Chutes and Ladders Strategy: What You Can and Cannot Control
Chutes and Ladders is almost entirely luck-driven. Players do not choose how far to move or which route to take.
The spinner determines the result
On a normal turn you simply move the number shown. There is no hand management, route choice or decision about whether to climb or slide.
Ladders and chutes are automatic
Landing on a ladder base advances you; landing on a chute top sends you backward. Neither effect is optional.
Use the game as a learning tool
For young players, counting spaces, recognizing numbers and waiting for turns are more meaningful goals than tactical optimization.
