The extended board
The extended board spreads worker placement across four seasons rather than concentrating most actions into the base game’s two main placement seasons.
It also introduces additional systems tied to influence and board timing, making turn order and seasonal preparation more important.
Structures
Structure cards create additional spaces and abilities around your personal vineyard. They give players another way to specialize beyond vines, wine orders and standard buildings.
Special Workers
Special Workers give particular meeples unique placement abilities. They increase asymmetry and make worker selection matter beyond simply how many workers remain available.
Can the modules be used separately?
Yes. Stonemaier explicitly describes Tuscany Essential Edition as modular. The three systems can be used in any combination, although the publisher notes that using all three together is a preferred way to play.
