Machi Koro 2
Buy establishments, roll dice to trigger income across the table and race to construct landmarks in a streamlined city-building card game.
Roll one or two dice, resolve establishments matching the result, then buy a new establishment or landmark.
Different card colors trigger at different times, so building a balanced city means considering both your own dice probabilities and income generated on opponents’ turns.
Why We Love It
Machi Koro 2 makes every building purchase a bet on future dice results. Because establishments can trigger on your roll or an opponent’s roll, a city can generate income even while you are waiting for your turn.

What is Machi Koro 2?
Machi Koro 2 is Masao Suganuma’s streamlined sequel for 2–5 players. Pandasaurus lists a 45-minute play time and age 10+.
Players build cities from shared-market establishments whose income triggers on specific die results.
How the game works
On a turn, roll one or two dice, resolve all establishments matching the result, then buy a new establishment or landmark if you can afford it.
Blue, green, red and purple cards pay under different conditions, so your city can profit on your own turns or on opponents’ rolls depending on what you build.
The decisions that define it
The core choice is probability versus diversification. Concentrating on a narrow band of numbers can create large payouts, but a wider spread produces steadier income.
Landmarks also create races because their effects can accelerate your economy while moving you closer to the victory condition.
Who is it for?
Choose Machi Koro 2 if you want a light economic engine with dice excitement, visible card markets and easy family-table interaction.
Choose Splendor for lower randomness or Century for more deterministic resource conversion.
