Forest Shuffle Scoring: Trees, Species Sets & Conditional Points

Forest Shuffle scoring is card-driven. There is no single universal formula: many animals, plants and fungi score from specific relationships visible in your completed forest.

Printed points

Add any fixed VP printed on visible card halves and tree cards.

Species-specific formulas

Resolve each visible species card’s scoring text. Common conditions reference tree species, card families, sets, quantities, adjacency or other animals/plants in your forest.

Only visible played halves count as active species

When a split card is tucked under a tree, score the visible half you chose to play. The hidden half is not a second active species unless a rule explicitly says otherwise.

Check thresholds carefully

Some cards score only if a minimum forest condition is met or change value based on the number of matching cards. Count the full tableau before resolving them.

Highest total wins

Add all fixed and conditional scores after the winter end trigger. Use the official score sheet/reference if available because many formulas overlap.
