How to Play Barrage: Dams, Water Flow & Energy
Barrage is a five-round worker-placement game about controlling shared water. Infrastructure placement matters because upstream structures can redirect water away from opponents.
Scope: Cranio Creations base game only.
Place engineers
On your turn, place the required number of engineers on an available action space and resolve it.
Construct infrastructure
Build dams, elevations, conduits and powerhouses. Construction requires resources and machinery, which are committed to your construction wheel.
Construction wheel
Machinery used for building becomes temporarily unavailable until the wheel advances through future construction actions.
Store water
Dams hold water flowing from headstreams and reservoirs. Elevations increase capacity and help control larger flows.
Produce energy
Release stored water through a connected conduit into a powerhouse. The conduit determines production strength, and the water continues downstream afterward.
Contracts
Energy production can fulfill available contracts, giving immediate resources, points or other rewards.
Round end
Energy production determines round income and scoring bonuses. Water is added or advanced according to the round structure.
Game end
After round five, add final scoring from infrastructure, objectives/contracts and the remaining categories in the base rules.
