How to Play Skip-Bo: Stockpiles, Building Piles, Discards & Wilds
Skip-Bo is a sequencing race. Your goal is to play every card from your personal Stockpile before anyone else.
Setup
Under the standard rules, players receive a face-down Stockpile with the top card turned face up. For 2–4 players, the standard setup uses 30 Stockpile cards; for 5 or more players, it uses 20.
Building piles
Up to four shared Building piles are created in the center. Each starts with a 1 (or a Skip-Bo wild used as 1) and builds upward in order to 12.
Your hand
Draw up to five cards at the start of your turn according to the rules. You may play as many legal cards as possible from your hand, Stockpile and allowed discard-pile tops.
Discard piles
Each player can create up to four personal discard piles. Only the top card of each discard pile is available to play.
End of turn
Finish by discarding one card from your hand onto one of your personal discard piles.
Winning
The first player to play the final card from their Stockpile wins immediately.
