How to Play Sky Team: Dice Placement, Axis, Speed & Landing

Sky Team is a two-player cooperative dice-placement game about landing an airliner. Pilot and co-pilot roll dice behind screens, then alternate placing dice into cockpit spaces without discussing their exact values.

Roll dice secretly

At the start of a round, both players roll their available dice behind screens. Once dice are rolled, communication becomes restricted according to the rules.

Alternate placing one die at a time

Pilot and co-pilot take turns assigning a die to a legal cockpit space. Some spaces belong to one role; others form paired systems that require one die from each player.

Axis controls aircraft tilt

Compare the two axis dice to determine whether the aircraft stays level or tilts. Excessive tilt can cause an immediate loss, so paired values must remain within the safe range.

Engine dice control movement along the approach track

The paired engine result determines how far the plane advances toward the airport. Moving too far can collide with traffic; moving too slowly can leave the aircraft short of the runway when the rounds run out.

Radio clears traffic

Radio dice remove aircraft from specific positions on the approach track. Traffic must be cleared before your aircraft reaches those spaces.

Prepare landing gear, flaps and brakes

Before touchdown, the team must deploy the required landing gear and flaps and build enough braking power. These systems also change the safe engine-speed range as the approach progresses.

Coffee can modify dice

Coffee tokens provide limited value adjustment after placement, giving the team a small tool for correcting near-miss results without open numerical discussion.

Land with all final conditions satisfied

The team wins only if the aircraft reaches the runway at the correct time with safe axis, speed, gear, flaps and braking conditions satisfied. Scenario modules can add further requirements.
