Exploding Kittens Strategy: Defuse Timing, Draw Control & Attacks
Exploding Kittens has high randomness, but the strongest decisions revolve around information and controlling who must draw.
Value information near danger
See the Future is most useful when the deck is thin or after another player has manipulated it. Information has little value if a Shuffle immediately destroys it.
Protect Defuse cards
A Defuse is a life. Avoid exposing it unnecessarily to random theft and remember that a late-game Defuse can be more valuable than several ordinary actions.
Use Attack to pass known danger
If you know the next card is bad, an Attack can end your turn without drawing and transfer multiple turns to the next player.
Track Nopes
Important Attacks, Shuffles and theft combos are safer after several Nopes have already been used.
Endgame
As the player count shrinks, every card that avoids a draw becomes more valuable because dangerous cards form a larger share of the remaining deck.
