Santorini Strategy: Threats, Stairways & God Powers
Editorial analysis: Santorini is about controlling future movement. Every build creates or destroys a stairway.
Create two winning threats
A single obvious level-three route is easy to block. Strong positions create multiple spaces the opponent cannot cover at once.
Use domes defensively
A dome can permanently remove a dangerous square and close an opponent’s climbing route.
Keep workers connected
Workers that can support the same cluster of towers are more flexible than workers isolated on opposite sides of the board.
Build beneath your future route
Do not only build where you stand now. Create the second-level stepping stones needed for a later third-level win.
Read the god-power matchup
Some powers alter which spaces are safe, which climbs are legal or what counts as victory. Adjust your normal threat patterns immediately.
Prevent forced losses early
If the opponent can create a double threat next turn, your current move must address it even if your own position looks promising.
