Avoid the first obvious answer
The most obvious response is also the one most likely to be duplicated. When time allows, search for a second valid option.
Skip and return
Do not spend half the timer trapped on one category. Move down the list, bank easier points and come back.
Use category breadth carefully
Creative answers are valuable only if the table accepts them. Push for originality without relying on interpretations that are too strained to survive a challenge.
Learn difficult-letter patterns
Letters such as Q, X or Z reward a mental bank of names, places and terms that can fit several category types.
