Clank! Catacombs
Clank! Catacombs explained: build your deck, reveal a modular dungeon, rescue prisoners, use portals, collect artifacts and escape before the dragon catches you.
Explore a dungeon that grows tile by tile while improving your deck with movement, skill and combat cards. The deeper you travel, the more valuable the treasure—and the harder the escape.
Noise cubes enter the dragon bag as you make Clank!, turning every draw into a risk calculation shared by the entire table.
Why We Love It
Catacombs makes the original Clank! formula less predictable. Because the map is built during play, route planning becomes an ongoing decision instead of a puzzle solved from a fixed board.
About Clank! Catacombs
Players use cards to move, fight monsters, acquire new cards and buy items while uncovering catacomb tiles. Portals, shrines, ghosts and prisoners create tactical opportunities and hazards.
To score fully, you need an artifact and must survive the return journey far enough to escape the dungeon.

Rules overview
Play all cards in your hand to generate boots for movement, swords for combat and skill for acquiring cards. Moving into unexplored passages reveals and connects new dungeon tiles. Some cards generate Clank!, adding your cubes to the danger area; dragon attacks move cubes into the bag and draw damage. Secure an artifact, gather extra treasure if time allows and return toward the surface before damage or the endgame timer catches you.
Key decisions
Editorial analysis: Deck efficiency and route risk should be evaluated together. A powerful deck is wasted if you descend too far to escape, while turning back too early can leave high-value rewards uncontested. Watch both your health and how many of your cubes are already in the dragon bag.
