Yahtzee Scoring Rules: Upper Bonus, Straights, Full House & Chance
Yahtzee has six upper-section boxes and seven lower-section boxes. You fill one box per turn and cannot reuse a box later.
Upper section
For Aces through Sixes, add only dice showing the chosen number. For example, three 4s score 12 in the Fours box.
35-point upper bonus
If your upper-section subtotal reaches at least 63 points, add a 35-point bonus. Scoring three of each number would reach exactly 63.
Three and four of a kind
For Three of a Kind or Four of a Kind, the required matching dice must be present and the score is the total of all five dice.
Full House
Three of one number plus a pair of another scores a fixed 25 points.
Straights
A Small Straight is any four consecutive values and scores 30 points. A Large Straight is five consecutive values and scores 40.
Chance and Yahtzee
Chance scores the total of any five dice. A Yahtzee—five of a kind—scores 50 points in the Yahtzee box.
