How to Play Scattergories: Letters, Categories, Timer & Scoring
Scattergories 04917 is a timed category game for 2–6 players.
Prepare the lists
Give each player a folder, answer sheet and pencil, and choose the category list for the round.
Roll the letter die
The 20-sided die determines the letter that every answer should begin with.
Start the timer
Everyone fills the categories at the same time, trying to write one qualifying answer for each prompt.
Compare answers
After time expires, read each category aloud. When two or more players have matching answers, those matching responses do not score.
Score unique answers
An acceptable answer that no opponent matched scores a point under the classic scoring system.
