Blood Rage 5th Player Expansion Guide: Ram Clan & 5-Player Rules
The Blood Rage 5th Player Expansion adds the Ram Clan and the extra components/cards needed to play the full game with five players.
What the 5th Player Expansion adds
- Ram Clan sheet and clan pieces
- 10 clan miniatures plus colored bases
- A Ram glory marker and clan tokens
- 24 additional Gods’ Gifts cards—8 for each Age deck
- Five-player setup rules
Why extra cards are necessary
Blood Rage’s card draft is calibrated around player count. At five players, the normal Age decks need more cards so every player receives a complete draft. The expansion’s 24 cards are marked with a 5+ prerequisite and are added for the five-player game.
Most extend familiar card effects, while some add new five-player-specific options.
Five-player board setup
At five players, the board is more crowded from the opening Age. The official five-player setup uses the full province space rather than destroying a province before play begins, giving all five clans room to enter the map.
Does the Ram Clan have unique rules?
The Ram Clan follows the same core clan structure as the base clans. Its main purpose is to supply the complete fifth-player set of figures, markers and sheet; asymmetry in Blood Rage continues to come primarily from the cards players draft.
Can it combine with Gods of Asgard?
Yes. Gods of Asgard modifies provinces rather than replacing the five-player draft structure, so it can be used in a five-player game with the Ram Clan.
Can it combine with Mystics of Midgard?
Yes. Mystics of Midgard includes Mystic figures/support for the Ram Clan, but you need this 5th Player Expansion to actually field the Ram Clan and run the five-player game.
Who needs this expansion?
Buy it when five-player Blood Rage is the goal. For groups that normally play with two to four people, Gods of Asgard or Mystics of Midgard adds more mechanical variety than a player-count expansion.
