What is Bomb Busters?
Bomb Busters is Hisashi Hayashi’s cooperative deduction game for 2–5 players. The team sees its own sorted wire tiles but must infer where matching values sit on teammates’ racks.
The base game includes 66 missions and five sealed surprise boxes that introduce additional rules and material as the group progresses.
How the game works
The 48 standard wires are numbered 1–12, with each number appearing four times. On a turn, players try to cut a matching pair using one known wire and a deduction about a teammate’s hidden rack.
Correct cuts reveal information and advance the defusal. Mistakes move the bomb closer to detonation, while special red and yellow wires create additional constraints in later missions.
The decisions that define it
Strong play comes from turning every revealed value, rack position and previous attempt into shared information. The sorted racks mean a failed guess still changes what values are plausible.
Communication matters, but the puzzle works because players cannot simply expose all hidden values; they must coordinate around partial information.
