Dune: Imperium Influence & Alliance Rules: Faction Tracks and Tokens

Dune: Imperium has four faction influence tracks: Emperor, Spacing Guild, Bene Gesserit and Fremen. Influence can earn victory points and Alliance tokens.

What happens at 2 influence?

Reaching 2 influence with a faction earns the printed faction-track victory point.

How do you gain an Alliance?

The first player to reach the Alliance threshold—normally 4 influence—takes that faction’s Alliance token and gains its victory point.

Can another player take your Alliance?

Yes. If another player surpasses your influence with that faction, the Alliance token can transfer to them.

What happens if you lose influence?

Dire Wolf’s FAQ clarifies that you lose the Alliance token if you fall to 3 influence or lower, or if a previous tie changes so another tied player should now hold the Alliance. If no player qualifies, the token returns to the board.

What happens on an influence tie?

A player does not take an Alliance merely by tying the current holder. To take it from another player, you must surpass them unless a later influence loss changes the qualified holder under the FAQ rules.

What do Alliance icons on cards mean?

An Alliance ability can be used only if you currently hold the Alliance token of the faction shown.

What do influence requirement icons mean?

Some card abilities require you to have at least the specified amount of influence with that faction. You do not need the Alliance unless the card specifically shows an Alliance requirement.
