Dune: Imperium Scoring: Victory Points, Endgame & Tiebreaks
Dune: Imperium tracks Victory Points during play. The endgame is checked during Recall: reach at least 10 VP or exhaust the Conflict deck, then resolve Endgame Intrigue before declaring the winner.
Researched rules guide. Checked September 20, 2026 against Dire Wolf’s current base-game rulebook.
Victory Points come from several visible and hidden sources
- Faction influence thresholds.
- Holding a faction Alliance.
- Conflict rewards that award VP.
- Card, Leader and Intrigue effects that explicitly award VP.
- Other base-game effects printed with the VP symbol.
Alliances are not permanently owned: another player can overtake your influence and take the Alliance VP before the endgame.
Endgame trigger: 10 VP or empty Conflict deck
During Phase 5: Recall, if any player is at 10 or more VP, or if the Conflict deck is empty, the Endgame is triggered. The game does not stop the instant someone reaches 10 in the middle of the round.
Resolve Endgame Intrigue before comparing totals
Players may resolve eligible Endgame Intrigue cards as specified by the rules. These can change final VP or resources before the winner is determined.
Official tiebreak order
- Most Victory Points.
- If tied: most spice.
- Then most Solari.
- Then most water.
- Then most troops in the garrison.
Example endgame
Two players finish Recall on 10 VP. After Endgame Intrigue they remain tied. One has 5 spice and the other 3 spice, so the 5-spice player wins without checking Solari, water or troops.
