Star Wars: Rebellion
Command the Galactic Empire or Rebel Alliance in an asymmetric conflict where the Empire hunts a hidden Rebel base while leaders run missions across the galaxy.
The Empire commands overwhelming military force while the Rebel Alliance hides its base and uses leaders to run missions across the galaxy.
Both sides assign leaders to missions or systems, creating a strategic contest between military presence, mission success and information about the hidden base.
Why We Love It
Star Wars: Rebellion is asymmetric at the objective level, not just through unit powers. The Empire needs to find and destroy the hidden Rebel base, while the Rebels mainly need to survive long enough for reputation to catch the time marker.

What is Star Wars: Rebellion?
Star Wars: Rebellion is Fantasy Flight Games’ 2016 asymmetric strategy game for 2–4 players. The publisher lists a 3–4 hour play time and age 14+.
One side controls the Galactic Empire and searches for the Rebel base; the other runs the Rebel Alliance and attempts to build enough reputation before the Empire finds and destroys it.
How the game works
Leaders are assigned to missions or kept available to activate systems. Missions drive diplomacy, sabotage, intelligence and other character-led actions, while system activations move fleets and ground forces.
The Empire probes the map and conquers systems to narrow the search. The Rebels complete objectives to advance their reputation marker and can relocate the base when necessary.
The decisions that define it
The Empire must balance search speed against military commitments: concentrating forces can secure a region but leave other systems weak or slow the hunt.
The Rebels constantly trade information for tempo. Acting aggressively can score objectives, but every visible move may help the Empire infer where the hidden base is located.
Who is it for?
Choose Star Wars: Rebellion if you want a long, strongly asymmetric two-side game with hidden information, missions and large-scale conflict.
Choose War of the Ring for a fantasy equivalent with a parallel hidden quest.
