Wyrmspan Scoring, Dragon Guild, Eggs & Objectives Explained

Wyrmspan ends after the fourth round. Final scoring combines several sources, so it is easy to miss points if you count only the printed values on dragons.

1. Dragon Guild scoring

Score the end-game victory-point benefits associated with your markers on the Dragon Guild tile. Guild advancement during the game also grants immediate track benefits, but final Guild scoring follows the tile’s end-game spaces.

2. Printed dragon points

Add the printed victory-point values on visible dragons on your player mat. Dragons still in hand or tucked under other cards are not counted as visible dragons for this category.

3. End-game dragon abilities

Resolve scoring from visible dragons with end-game abilities. Read each condition carefully because these can reward specific caves, resources, dragon traits or other sanctuary features.

4. Eggs

Each egg is normally worth 1 VP unless an effect says otherwise. Eggs can be on dragons or valid nest spaces on your mat.

5. Cached resources

Each resource cached on a dragon is normally worth 1 VP unless modified by another effect. Cached resources are no longer part of your spendable personal supply.

6. Tucked cards

Each tucked dragon card is normally worth 1 VP unless another ability changes that value.

7. Public objectives

Score the objective results earned across the four rounds. Ties are friendly: players tied at a scoring level receive that level’s points rather than pushing one tied player down.

8. Remaining coins and other items

Each remaining coin is worth 1 VP. For other leftover items, gain 1 VP for every four eligible items in any combination, rounded down, according to the rulebook’s end-game scoring list.

Final tiebreak

If players tie on victory points, compare the number of visible dragons on their player mats. If still tied under the current rulebook, the victory is shared.

Dragon Guild advancement reminder

When an effect grants a Dragon Guild advancement, move your guild token clockwise and gain the benefit of the space reached. When you reach one of the designated brown spaces, place one of your unused markers onto an available space on the Guild tile and collect the corresponding benefit.

Common scoring mistakes

  • Counting dragons in hand as printed dragon VP.
  • Counting tucked cards both as visible dragons and as tucked cards.
  • Spending cached resources after they have been cached.
  • Breaking objective ties instead of using friendly ties.
  • Forgetting that remaining coins score more efficiently than groups of other leftover items.
