PARKS Second Edition

Guide hikers along a seasonal trail, gather natural resources, visit all 63 U.S. National Parks and use gear, canteens, wildlife and photography to shape each trip.

♟1–5 Players◷40–70 Minutes♜Ages 10+⚙Medium◆Trail Building

Move two hikers along a changing trail to gather resources, take photos, use gear and visit U.S. National Parks.

Each season rearranges the trail and refreshes opportunities, while park cards and wildlife create longer-term collection goals.

Why We Love It

PARKS makes movement order matter. Hikers can only move forward along the seasonal trail, so waiting for a valuable site can also leave another player free to claim it first.

What is PARKS Second Edition?

PARKS Second Edition is Keymaster Games’ 2025 reworking of Henry Audubon’s national-park game. It incorporates ideas from the original game and expansions, includes all 63 U.S. National Parks, adds new art and revises the base-game experience.

Keymaster lists the current edition for 1–5 players, ages 10+, in 40–70 minutes.

How the game works

Each season, hikers move along a shared trail. Trail sites provide resources and actions, while the season gradually closes as hikers reach the end. Resources can be spent to visit Park cards, and gear/canteen systems improve future turns.

The second edition also integrates wildlife, camping-style ideas and updated park effects, so it should not be assumed identical to the 2019 first edition.

The decisions that define it

The shared trail creates timing pressure: moving farther can secure a valuable site but permanently skips the locations in between for that hiker.

Resource planning is equally important because collecting symbols is only useful if they convert into parks, photos or other scoring opportunities before the game ends.

Who is it for?

Choose PARKS if you want an accessible nature game with a strong visual identity, gentle blocking and enough planning to reward repeat play.

For a more purely spatial wildlife puzzle, compare Cascadia or Harmonies.
