Ultimate Railroads Scoring: Railways, Industry & Engineers
Ultimate Railroads scores repeatedly during the game, so the timing of an upgrade matters as much as its final position.
Railway scoring
Each route scores based on how far eligible track markers have advanced and whether the route is within locomotive reach. Higher-value rail colors replace or improve the value of earlier infrastructure according to the track hierarchy.
Locomotive reach limits points
A track marker beyond the distance covered by the locomotive does not produce the same scoring value until locomotive reach catches up.
Trans-Siberian and side routes
The different railways use distinct printed scoring spaces and bonuses. Resolve each route according to the current board/map.
Industry scoring
Your industry marker scores the point value of its current position each round. Factory tiles can extend the track and add bonuses.
Engineer scoring
At game end, engineers are compared/ranked under the core rules, awarding additional victory points.
Ultimate Railroads modules
German, American, Asian and other included modules can alter track structure or final scoring. Apply that module’s board and rule sheet in addition to these core principles.
Winner
After the final round and end-game bonuses, highest score wins.
