Scythe: The Wind Gambit Expansion Guide

Scythe: The Wind Gambit adds two modular systems to Scythe: airships and Resolution tiles. You can use either module independently or combine them in the same game.

What The Wind Gambit adds

  • 7 airship miniatures
  • 16 airship ability tiles
  • 8 Resolution tiles
  • Automa cards and solo support
  • Achievement and rules material

Airships

Each faction gains an airship. Before play, the table selects airship ability tiles that determine how all airships behave in that game.

Because the abilities are modular, airships are not one fixed rules package. Different combinations can emphasize movement, transport, resource interaction or military pressure.

Why airships matter

Airships change the geography of Scythe without replacing the normal board. They create another layer of mobility and positioning above the land-based faction economy.

Resolution tiles

Resolution tiles replace or modify the normal game-end condition. Instead of every session ending only through the standard sixth-star trigger, a Resolution can create a different late-game race.

Can you use only one module?

Yes. The Wind Gambit is deliberately modular. You can use airships without Resolution tiles, Resolution tiles without airships, or both together.

Player count

With the base game alone, Stonemaier lists The Wind Gambit for 1–5 players. It integrates with the rest of the Scythe line when you add other faction/player-count products.

Who should add The Wind Gambit?

Choose it when you want Scythe to feel different from session to session without committing to a campaign. Rise of Fenris changes more overall; Wind Gambit is easier to add and remove on demand.
