7 Wonders Edifice Expansion Guide: Shared Projects & Participation

7 Wonders: Edifice adds large shared construction projects to the table. Players decide whether to help complete each Edifice and share the reward—or stay out and risk the consequence.

What Edifice adds

  • 15 Edifice cards
  • 24 Participation pawns
  • 15 Debt tokens
  • 12 Military Conflict tokens
  • Additional coins, scorepad and effect references

Edifice setup

During setup, one Structure/Edifice card is prepared for each Age. These shared projects sit in the center of the table and create a public decision alongside normal card drafting.

Participation

Players can commit Participation pawns to a project. If the Edifice is successfully completed, participants receive its benefits.

What happens if you do not participate?

Non-participants may suffer the Edifice’s consequence when the project is completed. This creates a pressure point: join the shared project even if it is not ideal for your engine, or accept the downside.

Does Edifice add much complexity?

Repos describes it as the simplest 7 Wonders expansion to set up and explain. It adds interaction without adding a large side board or extending normal playtime.

Compatibility

Edifice works with the current expansion line and is also compatible with the first version of 7 Wonders according to Repos.

Who should add Edifice?

Choose Edifice when you want more table-wide interaction with minimal teaching overhead. Armada is much heavier; Edifice is closer to a lightweight shared-objective module.
