Dune: Imperium Rise of Ix Expansion Guide
Dune: Imperium – Rise of Ix broadens the strategic board with Tech tiles, dreadnoughts and CHOAM shipping. It is the first major expansion for the original Dune: Imperium and remains supported in the wider product line.

Tech tiles
Tech tiles cost spice and provide persistent benefits. Some reward deck-building, politics or military plans, while others provide broad efficiency.
Tech can be acquired through the new Ix spaces and specific expansion effects, making spice useful for more than influence and card requirements.
Dreadnoughts
Dreadnoughts are stronger military units. Each one contributes 3 combat strength rather than a normal troop’s 2, and players can commission up to two.
They can be deployed into conflicts and create a new Solari investment path alongside Swordmasters and other economy upgrades.
CHOAM shipping track
The shipping system uses a Freighter token to generate trade benefits. Smuggling and Interstellar Shipping create another way to convert board access and Guild influence into resources.
New leaders and cards
Rise of Ix adds six Leaders plus new Imperium and Intrigue cards. The card pool is designed around the new resource-conversion and tech systems while still feeding the core deck-building game.
Epic mode
Rise of Ix includes an Epic game mode for groups that want a longer, higher-stakes version of Dune: Imperium.
Compatibility with Uprising
Dune: Imperium – Uprising is compatible with Rise of Ix. Dire Wolf publishes specific setup adjustments for how the Ix board and CHOAM overlay fit the Uprising board.
Who should add Rise of Ix?
Choose Rise of Ix when you want more board strategy, more resource-conversion decisions and a stronger military/technology layer without replacing the deck-building core.
