What makes a useful expansion guide?

1. Base-game requirement

Confirm whether the product needs the original game, works standalone or needs another expansion first.

2. Rules impact

Separate “more content” expansions from boxes that replace boards, add phases or materially increase complexity.

3. Player-count impact

Check whether the expansion improves two-player play, raises the maximum player count or is mainly tuned for the standard group size.

4. Combination rules

Use publisher compatibility guidance before mixing modules that change the same subsystem.
